Kula . 2022
This set is named after some of my favorite regions on the island. Each one is made with hand-processed Maui red ochre.
Kula is upcountry, higher up the volcano. The temperatures are much cooler and almost all our fresh, local food is produced there. It’s perfect for farming and agriculture. Once a year, jacaranda trees bloom and paint the landscape purple.
This piece is comprised of earth pigments vs. acrylic, all the way down.
5x7 inches on watercolor paper. Full bleed to the edge. Made with Maui red ochre, 24 karat gold dust, charcoal, strontium aluminate, acrylic, water, and light.
Shown in natural light and no light. Video included to see the sparkly details.
Shipping included from Maui.
