For the first time in a very long time, I’m planning a show again. Just a little one, a local thing, but I’m actually really excited about it. I haven’t shown my work in a public exhibition of any kind since 2013, when I transitioned to selling my work online exclusively. When we arrived in Maui, I had decided somewhat arbitrarily that I would wait two years before thinking about having a show in Hawaii. I wanted it to come up naturally and organically, which, 3 or so months shy of our two year mark, it has. Maui is kinda magical like that. Anyway, it’s given me an opportunity to make lists and plans and get back to that public show mentality that I’d moved away from so long ago. But no one in Maui has seen my art in person. They’ve heard about it, in a vague sense when people ask what I do and I answer that I’m an artist. They’ve seen photos of my work, Facebook posts and the like. But anyone in California who has been to my shows knows that’s it’s so much more than that. My art has to be seen in person to be believed. It’s a whole different beast up close and personal. More information on this very soon. I feel like I’m climbing back into the saddle again, back to doing something I’m actually quite good at. I make the art but I’m also an experienced event planner too. I like to make everything extra special. 💕
