Day 79 • The 14th of September

Good morning! I didn’t sleep well last night and I’m looking forward to catching a few extra winks before starting my day today but no matter how tired I am or what’s going on, I spring out of bed every morning my sunrise-alarm goes off. No question. No hesitation. No snooze button. I might miss something! I pull back the curtain in the bedroom as soon as I stand up, just to preview what I’ll find outside. Then I step into the cool morning air and start snapping photos. I think it’s safe to say I’ve formed a habit at this point. I’m starting to think of myself as a person who gets up at sunrise, rather than just this random project I’m doing. I’ve been permanently changed by it, in all good ways. And we’re not even a third of the way through the project yet!

This sunrise was captured in Kihei, Maui at 6:12am on the 14th of September, 2022.
