Day 75 • The 10th of September

Well, that storm changed quickly. In Maui, weather changes by the minute, which I guess is a good metaphor about life. Rely on nothing and enjoy what’s here now, way out on this tiny rock in the middle of nowhere. There’s little else we can do, where nothing is constant but change. Erosion. Shifting sands and beaches. It’s nice sometimes to be reminded how little we control. In that space, we can relax. Remain in the present. Go with the flow of change. It’s not an easy lesson. It’s just one we all have to face at various points in our lives.
