🌄 Day 60/365
Okay I’m geeking out about this, so I have to mention it. An owl flew right past my balcony while I was out sunrise-watching. I knew they were here, but I hadn’t personally seen one in Hawaii before. Smaller and less menacing than the owls I saw in California. At first I thought it was a massive mourning dove until it did an about-face in mid-air right in front of me and I could see that it was clearly an owl. 🦉 I think it must have been Pueo, Hawaii’s endemic owl. More compact than I’m used to. Cute, even. I assumed the owls stayed in more rural areas, but turns out they’re all over. A new rite of passage I’ve crossed in living here. Good morning, Wise Owl. I feel honored and blessed.
Also, that pink is fabulous.
