Good morning! Happy Sunday!

I’ve realized that my favorite part of every sunrise is the 20 minutes before the sun actually rises. The colors are just incredible and it changes so fast my camera clicking can barely keep up. It’s quieter. The birds sing a softer tune. Usually by the point of actual sunrise, I’ve already chosen a favorite moment. I like this method — it allows me to just sit in reverence as the light makes its way over the mountain. It lets me have a moment to experience the sacred rising myself, instead of just documenting it.

This moment was captured in Kihei, Maui at 6:04am on the 14th of August 2022.
