Day 37 • The 3rd of August

Today’s image is pulled back a little farther so you can see more of the sky. It looks like the opening sequence of a fairytale. Each sunrise every morning becomes a friend that I get to know better. It’s a quiet, lovely, peaceful time — sitting patiently with the sky, listening carefully to its secrets, watching for its true colors. It is completely outside my control to determine what will happen, so I approach each day with an open mind, knowing the sky will be just as it chooses. It asks me to trust in the process, to be patient and forgiving. Sometimes I understand it intuitively. Other times I struggle to find common ground, anything I can latch onto that will help me see its true colors. In either case, I leave with a broader understanding of all the little differences and nuance in the details. I see it as a whole process, varying in disposition, reliability, and mood each day. I find the good in each one.

I might be better with skies than people.
