🌄 Day 269/365Â
Gah! What! How is this even a real color?! It hasn’t been enhanced or saturated at all! That color just exists in nature! Incredible. Right place, right moment. That’s all it took.
Really trying to go easy this week, in part to start practicing kindness toward myself as well as knowing that stress does not result in productivity. I think I pushed myself too hard to feel/be normal last week, after the heart-stopping events of the previous week. (Pun intended.) I wanted to be normal again so fast that I didn’t really allow for mental processing. Instead of getting anything done, my brain just shut down.
This week I’m taking more time to process. Finally my heart rate has lowered about 20 points from where it had remained steady for weeks (too high.) My thoughts are starting to clear. I have things I want to do again. I’ve been sleeping and eating better. I’ve been sitting on my patio with Musashi, enjoying the burst of color from all the blooming orchids around me. I’ve never seen orchids rebloom before. Different shapes and colors, even sweet smells (did you know that certain orchids have a light fragrance?! Me neither!) It’s been a pretty clear metaphor for what I want my life to be right now. Reblooming.
