🌄 Day 260/365
It’s good to be back.
I’m still leveling out, it’s hard to re-enter my life after experiencing something like that. I had all these (art) work plans when last week started and now I have no clue what they were. I tried painting for the therapy aspect but everything just turned to mush, much like my brain feels right now.Â
But the weather is gorgeous and the sun on my skin is heavenly and the sweet smell of flowers in the air are healing me. I walked to the ocean side of the park while walking Musashi yesterday because I’d arrived at night and hadn’t seen it. My breath caught when I saw it, like I forgot it was there, like I forgot I was in Maui. Suddenly I felt more centered and grounded. I could see the top of the volcano. The roosters were perpetually crowing. It’s been a long time since I’ve appreciated it here so intensely and with such raw emotion. I damn near got down on my knees and kissed the ground I stood on. This place is magic. I am so grateful to live here.
This sunrise was captured in Kihei, Maui at 6:35am on the 14th of March, 2023.Â
