Day 22 • The 19th of July

One of the reasons I try to spend a good hour sitting with the rising sun is because it changes about a hundred times while I’m there. I document all the different colors, gradients, shifting light, and clouds that morph and change as the sun gets higher in the sky, burning them off into interesting patterns. I decide as I go which is the best image to represent each day’s rising. I can usually tell the moment it happens. Very moody and dramatic this morning! 

This moment was captured in Kihei, Maui at 5:54am on the 19th of July, 2022.
