My favorite part of this week of rain will be how it looks in relation to the whole project. Like the year-long moon project, I want to see these photos as a huge sequential set, all of them in their entirety once it’s completed. A week of rain will stand out so beautifully against the usual explosion of tropical color we normally see every sunrise. And although the gloom is a tad … grey and boring at the moment, it’s place within the full 365 day project is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It will enhance both the color and the rain itself. This project is about the long haul and I love a good balance.
This sunrise was captured in Kihei, Maui at 7:03am on the 30th of January, 2023.
