🌄 Day 212/365
Finally the rain returned overnight and washed a bit of the vog out of the air. All day yesterday it felt like my face was on fire, like I wanted to sneeze again and again but the sneezes kept getting trapped inside my head. I did manage to plant a new crop of local onions, a baby Ti plant from a friend, some cuttings from an unknown plant at the bar that successfully rooted, and noticed two new stems of orchids sprouting out of one of my new plants. I adore plants. I was sad I had to give all mine up when we left California, a somewhat massive collection that I’d built up to create humidity indoors, something I knew I wouldn’t need in Hawaii. But I adore growing plants, being surrounded by green, and the metaphor wrapped up in caring for plants. Happy plants mean a healthy home, just as dead, brown, or non-existent plants reflect different vibes accordingly. I’m grateful to build up my collection again. I can’t care for all the plants in Hawaii but I can certainly look after a few on my patio. It will be a nice reflection to nurturing and revitalizing my 19-year art career in a month. This break has been good for me but it’s time to get things growing again.
