🌄 Day 204/365
I’ve seen more of the island in the last week than in the entire year prior. It’s nice to play tourist now and then. I didn’t realize how much I’d stopped doing that. My intention is to do more of it. Enjoy the island I live on, love where you live, etc. Because I do love where I live! I just get bogged down with life too easily and I need time to recover. Building strength, mentally and physically, is part of my goals for the year. It’s time, I think, to start moving past these last few scary, dark years. Not that I think the dark years are over, mind you, I just feel I’ve developed enough skills living through it that I can bear the weight of earth and societal shifts better than before. I’ve been building strength against the world we live in, something we’ll all need going forward. I just didn’t realize until recently that part of that strength is simply learning acceptance. Things aren’t as they were before. They’re as they are now. We’re the ones that must adjust. Fortunately, adjusting to change is one of our greatest strengths as a species. It’s up to us to find peace in the process.
