🌄 Day 137/365
I love the smell of rain. It’s different here— fresher, cleaner. It falls upon plants and trees, which liven and freshen up with the new added moisture. One tiny cloud can sprinkle drops on you on an otherwise sunny day. In California, the smell of rain was always mixed with the smell of asphalt and oil on the freeways. It was usually freezing. There’s no need to hide from the rain here though — it’s warm enough to endure and actually feels nice. Fat, soft raindrops to break up the heat. Unless there’s a downpour, no one wears jackets. It’s just water on your skin. A welcome cleansing of body and soul.
