Laundry. Dishes. Throwing away boxes. Making lists. Counting up sales. Putting a hundred things back in the closet, back in the storage room, so we can eat dinner at the table and I can feel a little less like a professional artist and mad scientist, more like a regular person who lives happily in a small apartment in Maui. At least for a couple of days anyway. Inevitably, after a short break, I start bringing out art supplies again, fresh with new ideas and grand plans for the future. It’s a cycle, or one might say — a circle.
