Trying to get back into the headspace of an artist who doesn’t focus primarily on sunrise photography isn’t easy. I’ve mostly thought of this as a “break” while I figure out my next steps, having largely stepped back from full-on creating since 2020, but this hasn’t been a break at all. It’s been hard work. As it rounds to a close, I need to have a plan for my creative life after this ends but I’m still unsure what that means for me. It’s not just me who has changed — the world around me is drastically different also. As I re-enter it I wonder what I will become. I’ve never not been an artist, that’s not a question, it’s seeped out my pores since I was a child. It’s just interesting (and a little scary) to imagine what form this will take after the next month is over.
