Well, I guess that’s a wrap on November! I looked away for just a minute and poof, the month is gone. I spent more time outside today than I have been lately. For one thing it’s been cold (yes, I know I know) and for another I’ve just been quicker with my process, shaving off the before and after moments of the sunrise, which I used to remain for as part of the ritual. But life gets busy and I convince myself to hurry, or I feel impatient with the very sun. What a silly thing to feel. Doing so had cut off some of the slow, meditative thinking I was able to accomplish during my full watch. I’ve been missing that aspect of the ritual. It changes it, whether I admit that to myself or not. The waiting game gave me time to ponder the day before and the one ahead. It forced me to literally practice patience. Without that practice, a lot else can suffer, which I began reminding myself over 7 years ago, when I got a tattoo on my arm that symbolizes patience and waiting. I guess I knew it would a lifelong lesson in some form or another.
