🌄 Day 333/365
Today, on Colin’s day off, we get to clean the entire apartment from top to bottom because in the last week there’s been a weird increase in small, black, carpet beetles everywhere! Hooray! I’m freaking out. Have I mentioned how much I hate carpet? Mostly for allergy reasons but I can add this to the list. I actually almost turned down this otherwise perfectly good apartment 2 years ago when we moved here because of the carpet. I’m glad I didn’t, and I’m glad roaches and centipedes haven’t been an issue (knocking on all the wood) but it’s Hawaii and we had to expect this at some point. I’m taking a scorched earth approach — anything unnecessary has got to go. So that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend! Washing and throwing away everything! Yay! Now that we’ve signed another 2 year lease, I’m not letting it get a day further along without a fierce battle. Short of setting fire to the inside of our home, I’ll be on a warpath. Wish us luck.
